Bio

Richie's career began in music, as a working musician, before a self-taught composing practice was formally examined and licensed in Rome in 1986. He spent a decade, from 2008 to 2018, as a Macro Strategist and Senior Analyst at Seaport Global Securities (following earlier work at Global Hunter Securities), covering oil markets and macro themes and providing commentary for financial media — including large-venue speaking engagements such as a 2018 IRCE conference talk to an ~800-seat room.

Since 2018, that analytical background has carried into enterprise data and business intelligence work, alongside an independent practice building Tableau Public dashboards directly from EIA energy data. In parallel, he has developed the Motion Picture Scoring Model and a narratology-based approach to cinema analysis, extending the same structural thinking to how films use music to tell their stories.

Four pillars, one throughline: economics & energy, music & composition, film & narratology, and media & speaking.
